Week 3 Cash Flow Planning Dear Myron & Sally: This week you learned how to manage your money with the zero-based budget. Remember, take control of your personal finances, instead of letting them take control of you. Class Notes Spend your money on paper, on purpose, before the month begins. Budget each paycheck and all income sources. Be patient. It usually takes around 90 days for a budget to start working. Use the envelope system for successful cash management. 4/3/2009 6:36:16 AM FINANCIAL PEACE: Our 12th class last night was about mortgages. The class was another interesting DVD from Dave Ramsey. We discussed our own homes mortgages. Sally & I and Cherish’s father (a drop in guest) were the only ones that had our mortgages paid off. I spoke up about our homes since being married. I was able to scan an IBD 10 successful tips. 3/27/2009 6:54:00 AM Financial Peace update: Our FPU weekly class was about our careers in life. This video was about the income portion of our lives. We have many careers, mine is one of writing, and posting my writings on the web. After class I helped Carol H. load an older version of MS excel. It worked! Now if I could just figure out how to program our new HD/TV/DVD Westinghouse 26” TV. Guess I’ll try to get it going. I can only get one channel .. WGN out of Chicago. 3/20/2009 6:07:26 AM Financial Peace: Last night Carol H. and I attended FPU @ our church. The Dave Ramsey’s DVD was titled “Retirement and College”. Both of these subjects were a N/A as I am both retired and there’s no need to go to college. But Carol was glad to attend and we had an interesting table talk afterwards. Later, we attempted to load a Microsoft excel program on her computer. Once again it did not work. There’s a key code missing of which Carol does not know key. I guess I’ll need to find the original CD somewhere in my CD/DVD collections. I noticed that my product is dated 2000 and Carol’s is dated 2003 .. another challenge which I want to tackle. 2/27/2009 6:26:15 AM WHEN THINGS GO BAD: I gotta tell ya .. sometimes it doesn’t even pay to get up. This last week should be titled, “electrical shortcircuited” Yesterday, I get up at my usual time, 3:30-5:00 AM, and do my usual thing. One of the usual thing to do is to turn on the TV. The TV made a couple of grunts, gave me the finger and died. Earlier our CD/DVD player died too. I had already given Mark the old theatre system. Read my previous post about that. So I had just purchased another CD/DVD to replace the one that was given to Mark. So I pick up Mark for our weekly father/son luncheon. I ask mark if it would be OK to shop around for another TV. Sams does not have any to my liking. Wal-Mart had one but they were sold out. I asked Greg A. to see if I could buy the one on display. Greg used to bowl with me. He could NOT find any paper work. So I go home, after driving through at McDonald’s for our togo meal. I finally decide to go online and do some shopping. Last night’s ...

I was able to pick up our friend Carol H. and she invited her friend Mariah. If only our federal government would listen! FINANCIAL PEACE: We attended the 3rd week of FPU last night at our church. The subject was one of debt. I was able to pick up our friend Carol H. There was a lot of good discussion afterwards also. I was able to tell the folks about my two tone car and being able to bargain shop. Sally now has her own workbook along with our old one. FPU is just a lot of common sense concerning YOUR money. FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY: It’s so simple, even a politician can do it! That’s my first thoughts about week one of FPU at our church. I only wish our politicians have taken Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace class. Yesterday Sally & I attended our 1st week at OSLC FPU w/ Cherish A. as our coordinator. I introduced myself as a lifetime member, the computer nerd, and Sally introduced herself as the free spirit. We listened to Dave and then went around introducing ourselves and what we’d like to get out of our 13 week class. There were approximately 20 + people in attendance.
