I HAVE AN IDEA: 9/30/2008 5:42:21 AM http://public.agenda.topeka.org/ItemAttachments.aspx?itemid=3657&meetingid=155 The above url is the sale of Sumner School here in Topeka KS. Our city wants to sell this historic structure to the highest bidder. I like it! If the city could sell this building, that would free up some expenses our city is going through. My only regret is I don’t have an extra 60 K to spare, or I would be buying this structure. I love history and I would fix it up similar to the Brown vs Board of Education museum. History needs to be preserved. If we ignore history, we’re bound to repeat it. Is there any Warren Buffet’s or Bill gate’s out there? When this structure is successfully sold on the web, then I would suggest we also do the same with TPAC. Are there any replies to this blog? Myron

9/29/2008 6:45:38 AM NIGHTMARE: Last night I had a bad dream. I dreamt that I was homeless & mentally ill. I was living in my car and it was not pretty. I woke up and thought I would put my thoughts to print. What an awful dream! My family has disowned me, except for Sally and Mark. John said some real vile things about me and stated something like it will be a LONG LONG time before I ever get to get a hug from my grand child. Kim was NOT in the picture. Good thing I woke up. This dream was NOT pretty. How does one interpret dreams? When reading our 50th book at church, I noticed that John’s pastor had suffered from clinical depression. Could that be one reason for my dream? I don’t know. It’s time to working on my bucket list. Myron

I want the government to pay off my home equity loan. After all, it’s only right. Sally and I have been faithfully paying this loan off, and I think it’s about time my government bails me out. 9/28/2008 5:56:38 AM OSLC 50th ANNIVERSARY; WOW! What a fun time! We celebrated 50 years of our church’s existence. I say that because Sally & I have been with the church since 1974. I remember the first week we attended. The Pinon’s were singing in the choir in the south portion of our then main sanctuary. We were sitting in the back, and I remember Roy Uhl turning around telling us that we should be in the choir. I remember getting a friendly greeting from Boots Gaubetz and Avis Cohick. Lots and lots of good memories flowed through those hallowed doors. I remember the good times and the not so good times. We are a church family, and there’s nothing more binding than church family and friends. Our lifetime memories are revolved around our respective churches. John and Mark were both confirmed in our church. Mark was baptized. There are lots of photos and our choir even made a musical CD. The 400 or so photos have been purchased and we’re planning to purchase 10 music

9/27/2008 7:02:46 AM It’s SATURDAY ! And I’m ready for our church’s 50th anniversary.. Well, sort of. The other day I got a phone call from Joe Ledbetter. He left it on my voice mail. Here it is: (paraphrased) Hey Myron.. that sure was a .. in my opinion a stupid letter that you wrote the other day. You weren’t gonna be mayor, all you did was go down to show off to Jim Cates. You weren’t even serious when you ran, so why do you keep bringng it up? You never ran for any thing else. You never legitimately entered any race for office. You act like it was a big deal. I think there was like 40 people that signed up. So you were just one of 40 and you didn’t get a vote. So why do you keep talking about it? If you don’t like what’s going on at city council, don’t watch it? Because democracy is not pretty when there’s a discussion of ideas, Myron. I know that’s what you and Mr. Felker never understood. 9/26/2008 9:32:07 AM DON’T PANIC!!! I’m speaking of our country’s financial crisis! Don’t panic! That will be my next subject for our public blog. I can only relate to our own financial situation. Other than my filing to file our taxes, in a timely manner, we’re doing quite well. Sally has placed her retirement money in a fund with Roger Shumaker & Co. I’ll get the same check monthly no matter what happens with our financial institutions. Sally & I have the best of all worlds! We have a little bit of home equity loan to pay off, and then we’re debt free! 9/18/2008 6:02:24 AM VACATION? Is a trip to your brother’s considered a vacation? I would hope so. Our goal is to leave by 9:00 am. All the ducks are almost in order. FROZEN SHOULDER: 9/17/2008 10:03:10 AM I just got back from the Dr. I have a frozen shoulder. NOW WHAT ! Will I ever be able to play golf? This AM I was able to drive my self to Tallgrass health care. I filled out the health care form for the group and visited with the Dr. about my shoulder. The Dr. said I have a frozen shoulder. Guess I’ll have to watch brother Dale golf. Physical therapy is in order. I’m a physical mess! Still have my mind though.

PINTRIOT: 9/14/2008 6:29:28 AM I have invented a new word. Sally & I like to watch Fox News and especially Bill O-Reilly’s Patriot/Pinhead segment. For example people who do charitable things are labeled Patriots. People who do things like make stupid comments, etc. are pinheads. The latest pinhead that comes to mind is Pam Anderson making a comment about Sarah Palin. I’m a Pintriot I salute the flag and even ran for mayor at one point in my life. In my book, that makes me a Patriot. I angrily called a member of my immediate family a name. That makes me a pinhead. 9/4/08 6:41:04 PM MAYOR CONDITIONS & PLATFORM: Mark & I were having our weekly father/son luncheon (no John, as usual) and I had an epiphany! The father/son discussion turned to politics and he knew I ran for mayor. So I proceeded to write on a paper napkin my conditions and platform before I would ever run for mayor again. So here goes: MAYOR CONDITIONS: 1) I’ll need Sally’s permission. 2) If our current Topeka mayor decides to run again for a second term, I’ll NOT run. 3) I’ll run only if I have a co-mayor on the ticket. 4) I only want to cut ribbons & kiss babies. 5) The co-mayor will run the Tues. night city council meetings. 9/2/08 6:49:54 PM OLDER COMPUTER: Well, here I am writing from an older computer. My newer laptop is into the computer Dr. and has a virus. What am I doing? Why are the computer gods picking on me? I’ve been a good guy! Well, every once in a while I like to surf the web and periodically I call up those nasty sites. But I thought I was protected? Perhaps my PC rubber, err anti-virus software was suppose to protect this machine? Maybe there was a pinprick in my software and the laptop got pregnant? J LATER: 9/3/08 5:04:45 AM I got a few minutes before my dental appoint, so I need to type fast. My neighbor on our street died suddenly this laast Sunday. I knew her only as “Sue”. So we waited for the printed obit to arrive and I’ll scan her obit and make a web page. My genealogy web page is not just for relatives anymore. Guess I’d better get to copy/pasting from this virus free computer.
