The above url is the sale of Sumner School here in Topeka KS. Our city wants to sell this historic structure to the highest bidder. I like it! If the city could sell this building, that would free up some expenses our city is going through.

My only regret is I don’t have an extra 60 K to spare, or I would be buying this structure. I love history and I would fix it up similar to the Brown vs Board of Education museum. History needs to be preserved. If we ignore history, we’re bound to repeat it.

Is there any Warren Buffet’s or Bill gate’s out there?

When this structure is successfully sold on the web, then I would suggest we also do the same with TPAC.

Are there any replies to this blog?

Last night I had a bad dream. I dreamt that I was homeless & mentally ill. I was living in my car and it was not pretty. I woke up and thought I would put my thoughts to print. What an awful dream! My family has disowned me, except for Sally and Mark. John said some real vile things about me and stated something like it will be a LONG LONG time before I ever get to get a hug from my grand child. Kim was NOT in the picture. Good thing I woke up. This dream was NOT pretty.

How does one interpret dreams?

When reading our 50th book at church, I noticed that John’s pastor had suffered from clinical depression. Could that be one reason for my dream? I don’t know.

It’s time to working on my bucket list.

The previous website is what the house just released for all to read. I want the government to pay off my home equity loan. After all, it’s only right. Sally and I have been faithfully paying this loan off, and I think it’s about time my government bails me out. It’s only 8K , not 700 B. Give me a break! After all, I’ve been paying my fair share throughout my life. It’s only fair! Who do I talk to?

Seriously, let’s talk some facts. Americans are really angry about this, and I’m no exception.

Thanks for letting me spout!

9/28/2008 5:56:38 AM

WOW! What a fun time! We celebrated 50 years of our church’s existence. I say that because Sally & I have been with the church since 1974. I remember the first week we attended. The Pinon’s were singing in the choir in the south portion of our then main sanctuary. We were sitting in the back, and I remember Roy Uhl turning around telling us that we should be in the choir. I remember getting a friendly greeting from Boots Gaubetz and Avis Cohick. Lots and lots of good memories flowed through those hallowed doors. I remember the good times and the not so good times. We are a church family, and there’s nothing more binding than church family and friends. Our lifetime memories are revolved around our respective churches.

John and Mark were both confirmed in our church. Mark was baptized. There are lots of photos and our choir even made a musical CD. The 400 or so photos have been purchased and we’re planning to purchase 10 musical Cd’s for give aways this Christmas. … Life is Good!

I’ll download a few photos and post them somewhere on our web.

And I’m ready for our church’s 50th anniversary.. Well, sort of.

The other day I got a phone call from Joe Ledbetter. He left it on my voice mail. Here it is: (paraphrased)

Hey Myron.. that sure was a .. in my opinion a stupid letter that you wrote the other day. You weren’t gonna be mayor, all you did was go down to show off to Jim Cates. You weren’t even serious when you ran, so why do you keep bringng it up? You never ran for any thing else. You never legitimately entered any race for office. You act like it was a big deal. I think there was like 40 people that signed up. So you were just one of 40 and you didn’t get a vote. So why do you keep talking about it? If you don’t like what’s going on at city council, don’t watch it? Because democracy is not pretty when there’s a discussion of ideas, Myron. I know that’s what you and Mr. Felker never understood. There has to be dissent into tyranny.

Voice message dated weds 4:22pm from Joe Ledbetter 785-215-6319

So why am I typing this out you might ask?

For one, my wife of many years and immediately called Joe an idiot. She was pissed! You don’t want to cross Sally. She is emotional.

ME? .. I was humored! I returned his call and we both called each other idiots. Mr. Ledbetter has a way of agitating folks in all walks of life. I just considered the source. This might make a good blog article if anyone wants to reply.

I am willing to play this on the air if my good friend Jim Cates wants. In the meantime, I guess I’ll save his message to tape.

I’ll now post this to my blog and continue on with my life.

Joe Ledbetter … you have suffered from an id 10 t error and you’re a pinhead.

Visit our site for further details…

I’m speaking of our country’s financial crisis! Don’t panic! That will be my next subject for our public blog.

I can only relate to our own financial situation. Other than my filing to file our taxes, in a timely manner, we’re doing quite well. Sally has placed her retirement money in a fund with Roger Shumaker & Co. Their website is now www.retiretopeka.com and I’m a subscriber.

I am retired federal service and retired military. I’ll get the same check monthly no matter what happens with our financial institutions. Sally & I have the best of all worlds! We have a little bit of home equity loan to pay off, and then we’re debt free!

We’re lifetime members of www.daveramsey.com and I’m trying to set up a church financial peace university here at www.oslctopeka.org , Our Saviours Lutheran Church. When our 50th anniversary is over, I’m going to push on starting a group.

So, all in all, Sally & I have the best of worlds. It doesn’t get any better than this. Now if I could only get over these sucker emails.

Ok. I have diabetes. I just got back from a diabetes group therapy. Now I’ve gotta read all about my new found illness. Actually, I’ve had this disease for months and have been in denial. I’ll now post this to my public blog and see if anyone replies.

Is a trip to your brother’s considered a vacation? I would hope so. Our goal is to leave by 9:00 am. All the ducks are almost in order. It’s really tough sometimes when you leave the confines of your space. I’m thinking of George Carlin’s comedy rendition of getting a smaller version of your stuff. George passed away earlier this year. Sally & I got free tickets once (Thanks Jim Cates) and heard him once.

So here’s my checklist:

Roll bag
Tan samsonite bag
Golf clubs just for practice (see previous post)
Business cards
Electronic bag
Medical bag
Good attitude

I just got back from the Dr. I have a frozen shoulder. NOW WHAT ! Will I ever be able to play golf? This AM I was able to drive my self to Tallgrass health care. I filled out the health care form for the group and visited with the Dr. about my shoulder. The Dr. said I have a frozen shoulder. Guess I’ll have to watch brother Dale golf. Physical therapy is in order. I’m a physical mess! Still have my mind though.

9/14/2008 6:29:28 AM

I have invented a new word. Sally & I like to watch Fox News and especially Bill O-Reilly’s Patriot/Pinhead segment.

For example people who do charitable things are labeled Patriots. People who do things like make stupid comments, etc. are pinheads.

The latest pinhead that comes to mind is Pam Anderson making a comment about Sarah Palin.

I’m a Pintriot

I salute the flag and even ran for mayor at one point in my life. In my book, that makes me a Patriot.

I angrily called a member of my immediate family a name. That makes me a pinhead.

So, put the two words together and whalla! .. out comes PINTRIOT J

So now I’m going to label our Topeka KS city government, starting with our mayor. Bear with me, I can write only so fast J

Bill Bunten – Mayor

Bill, you’re a PINTRIOT:

By wanting to clean up our great city with pot hole repair, infrastructure, statesman like qualities, etc. .. you’re PATRIOT. I salute you..

By wanting to be in “control” when the people elected a person to be only a ceremonial mayor, that makes you a pinhead, albeit a small pinhead.
So, putting the two together, you’re a Pintriot, and that’s not a bad thing. Remember, my labeling you all is just for fun. Please take no offense, ok?

City manager, Norton Bonaparte Jr.

Norton, you’re also a Pintriot.

You’re a Patriot by wanting to do your day to day job for our great city. Balancing a multi million dollar budget is no easy taskm and I salute you for that.

You’re a pinhead if you want to raise our property taxes without exausting all other means of reducing the budget.

So let me work the equation out in defining the word Pintriot.

Jesus is a TRUE Patriot and will get a 100 % rating. Jesus IS perfect. Nobody will ever achieve this grade, therefore, we’re ALL PINTRIOTS to some degree.

So the equation works from 1.00 minus my definition of what qualifies you to be a percentage from Jesus. Bear with me. Remember the higher your percentage, the more you’re a patriot.

So let me get back to the previous mentioned folks.
Bill Bunten is a 75 % Pintriot. Jesus 1.00-25 = 75 I subtract the “control” equation thereby giving Mr. Bunten a 75 %

You have also returned my phone calls and emails. So far you have not posted anything on our blog.

See where I’m going here?

Norton, you’re also a 75 %. Have you exhausted all means necessary to keep our mill levy down?

You have also returned my phone calls and emails. So far you have not posted anything on our blog.

Lana Kennedy:

Lana, I’m giving you a 90 % Pintriot. By calling our mayor a crony & nepotism took a lot of guts. Just don’t let folks change your mind if you feel you are right in making the right decisions.

However, you have failed to call me back or reply to my emails. I should dock you for that.

John Alcala:

John, I’ll give you a solid 90 % also. What happened between you and Brett behind closed doors? Was there some sort of shouting match going on? What was that all about? Thanks for returning my phone call. No email reply yet nor any posting to my public blogs.

PS: What was the toilet thing in front of city hall all about?

Sylvia Ortiz:

You are the councilwoman for my son John also.

Sylvia, I’ll also give you a 90 %. You have always been sticking up for the little guy in your district, and I applaud you for that. You have also replied to my emails, (no phone replies) and no blog replies.

Bill Haynes:

Bill, I’ll give you a solid 95 %. Anybody that is fiscally responsible with our tax dollar, I salute. I’m sure you’re NOT perfect by any means, so I’ll just leave it at that. Did you also do research on trying to find other ways to reduce spending in order to balance the budget?

Deborah Swank:

Deborah, I don’t know you. How can I grade you if we’ve never met? You have not returned any phone calls, nor emailed me or posted to my public blogs. So, without knowing anything, I’ll NOT grade you.

PATRIOT OR PINHEAD (Thanks Bill O-Reilly)

9/12/08 12:19:58 PM

Are you a patriot or a pinhead?

That’s my next question of which I do not expect the Topeka city council to answer. So I will answer the question and post it on my next blog reply.

You’re a patriot is you want to protect and serve and supply the police force with the tools to do their job.
You’re a pinhead is you use an unknown “communication” to achieve your objective to do so.

You’re a patriot if you want “new” blood in the planning commission.
You’re a pinhead if you don’t want an experienced person to remain in this FREE service to the public.

You’re a patriot to want to balance the budget.
You’re a pinhead to want to balance the budget on the back of our fine city workers.

You’re a patriot to want to keep the arts on the budget.
You’re a pinhead is you don’t try to reduce spending in some other format first.

You’re a patriot by running for public office.
You’re a pinhead is you dig up dirt on the persons personal life who is running for public office.

You’re a patriot for having Jesus in your life.
You’re a pinhead for NOT having Jesus in your life.

You’re a patriot for owning a website.
You’re a pinhead for owning a LIBERAL LEFT WING biased web site.

You’re a Patriot for wanting to be fiscally responsible.
You’re a pinhead for NOT wanting to be fiscally responsible.

You’re a patriot for wanting to know the facts BEFORE making a decision.
You’re a pinhead for making a decision without knowing the facts

You’re a patriot is you respectfully disagree with someone.
You’re a pinhead if you vote against someone because of personal dislikes.

You’re a patriot by serving our community honestly.
You’re a pinhead if you serve our community dishonestly.

You’re a patriot by putting GOD first in your life.
You’re a pinhead by putting “god” first in your life. (Note the small god)

You’re a patriot if you return phone calls, emails, etc.
You’re a pinhead by purposely failing to do so.

You’re a patriot if you’re a traditionalist.
You’re a pinhead if you’re a secularist.

You’re a patriot if you pray in your own heart with no one except GOD hearing you.
You’re a pinhead if you pray like those Pharisees in the bible.

9/9/08 8:12:37 AM

(Romans 13:1-?) This is from the bible in contemporary language.

Be a good citizen. All governments are under God. Insofar as there is peace and order, it’s God’s order. So live responsibly as a citizen. If you’re irresponsible to the state, then you’re irresponsible with God, and God will hold you responsible. Duly constituted authorities are only a threat if you’re trying to get by with something. Decent citizens should have nothing to fear.

Do you want to be on good terms with the government? Be a responsible citizen and you’ll get on just fine, the government working to your advantage. But if you’re breaking the rules right and left, watch out. The police aren’t there just to be admired in their uniforms. God also has an interest in keeping order, and he uses them to do it. That’s why you must live responsibly – not just to avoid punishment but also because it’s the right way to live.

That’s also why you pay taxes – so that an orderly way of life can be maintained. Fulfill your obligations as a citizen. Pay your taxes, pay your bills, and respect your leaders.

Sally & I TRY to do daily devotions to start our day right. Our reading was from Paul’s address to the Romans, hence the Bible in the book of Romans. I immediately thought of our local city government and how appropriate it is to blog about it.

I wonder sometimes if our leaders are following the good book or making decisions for their own self-interests. I will NOT mention any names; just think within your own thoughts if you’re making the right decisions. Read the Bible and decide in the privacy of your own thoughts if you’re doing what’s right for the citizens or for your own self interests.

I will now post this to my public blog.

In Christ,

Earning future trust ny accurately reporting past facts.

www.topekacityofcharacter.org is the word of the Sept month here in Topeka KS. I will write a little bit of this word on how it applies to my personal life. So as not to be offensive to anyone reading this , I’ll use only the initials of the parties involved. Remember, the word “truthfulness”. Words mean things and this word especially hit close to home.

9/9/08 6:12:13 AM

Myron Holter: mh
Other parties initials – jh – kh – mch – sh – mah – jc –

On or about 05/2006 mh received a cell call from kh. Mh thought the call was from jh as the cell msg showed jh’s name on the caller id. Kh proceeded to to chew mh out for making a web page of mch, who was born the previous month. The fact of the whole matter is, mch had just been born and she was listed on the hospitals web site as new births. Mh proudly downloaded the web page to his own computer, knowing that the web page would be removed in a few days.

So the initial phone conversation went like this:

Mh: Hello jh
Kh: this is not jh , this is kh
Mh: Hi kh how are you doing?
KH: I’m am really angry!
Mh: What’s the problem?
Kh: What are you doing telling everyone about mch on your web?
Mh: What’s the url?
Kh: You know what the web address is!
Mh: I have not yet made the url p/w protected and I’ll remove the address.
Kh: I’m going to leave this screen up and show it to jh when he get’s home.
Mh: I am in the process of making the mch web page p/w protected.
Mh: Let me make it right
KH Hung up

I received this contract from KH Demanding I sign this contract BEFORE MH can see mch. To this day mh can not see mch and I have subsequently lost a whole family, not being allowed to get a hug from mch.

I’’m deeply saddened by this whole state of mis understandings. Mah & sh are caught in the cross fire. I have tried and tried to make it right with the family of jdh/kh to no avail. My bucket list as posted on our web will perhaps shed some more light on the sad scenario.

How does jc play into all this? JC is our local talk show host here in Topeka and I have occasionally talked about my family in a nice way. KH is a very private person and perhaps thought mh was exploiting mch by even mentioning her name on the radio.

So the word “truthfulness” rings true in my life. Too bad KH does not think so. To this day I’m not allowed to see my only grand child, MCH.

Please pray for the jh/kh family and help me with my bucket list.

GOD BLESS any one reading this BLOG entry.

Replies will be respectfully replied.

Topeka KS Mayoral Conditions & Platform

9/4/08 6:41:04 PM

Mark & I were having our weekly father/son luncheon (no John, as usual) and I had an epiphany!
The father/son discussion turned to politics and he knew I ran for mayor. So I proceeded to write on a paper napkin my conditions and platform before I would ever run for mayor again.

So here goes:

1) I’ll need Sally’s permission.
2) If our current Topeka mayor decides to run again for a second term, I’ll NOT run.
3) I’ll run only if I have a co-mayor on the ticket.
4) I only want to cut ribbons & kiss babies.
5) The co-mayor will run the Tues. night city council meetings.

1) I promise to do NOTHNG and I ask the city council to follow my weak leadership.
2) I will sell the mayor’s desk and chair on EBAY.
3) I will blog @ home and NOT at the mayors office.
4) I will try to make most all the public mayoral functions & use my own transportation to do so.
5) I will NOT drive downtown if a mayoral function is closer to my home. I will check with my scheduler on a regular basis.
6) I will freely wear various t-shirts, hats, etc. for the various social functions. I will wear a suit and tie if necessary.
7) I will return phone calls, emails, etc. and ask everyone I meet if they would like ONE FREE visit to our web.

Myron's Bucket List

9/3/08 8:52:15 AM

Myron’s Bucket lweb page has been updated:

Myron’s Bucket list

9/2/08 6:49:54 PM

Well, here I am writing from an older computer. My newer laptop is into the computer Dr. and has a virus. What am I doing? Why are the computer gods picking on me? I’ve been a good guy! Well, every once in a while I like to surf the web and periodically I call up those nasty sites. But I thought I was protected? Perhaps my PC rubber, err anti-virus software was suppose to protect this machine? Maybe there was a pinprick in my software and the laptop got pregnant? J

9/3/08 5:04:45 AM

I got a few minutes before my dental appoint, so I need to type fast. My neighbor on our street died suddenly this laast Sunday. I knew her only as “Sue”. So we waited for the printed obit to arrive and I’ll scan her obit and make a web page.
My genealogy web page is not just for relatives anymore.

Guess I’d better get to copy/pasting from this virus free computer.
